Mentoring Inquisitive MindsBrenda Stutzman creates brain-based learning opportunities
for children in the San Ramon Valley. She offers coaching sessions using
research-driven methods for developing thinking skills, creative problem solving and establishing
long-term memory. Kids love this approach because Brenda makes learning fun!

Let Brenda introduce herself:
I began my teaching career with children who didn't "fit the box" as
learners. Many were bright but didn't know which direction to take information
in response to a question. Some students simply didn't know what to do with information
presented to them. I found I loved the challenge of devising ways to help
students make sense of tasks put before them. Later my role as
"teacher" was put on hold while my family lived in Germany for 10
years. During that time I became a "learner" as my own children were
students in a very different educational system. I discovered new ways to
compute math problems and found languages have similarities that can be built
upon for our bi-lingual students. In the last twelve years I have become fascinated
with research on the brain and learning. I have attended many conferences, read
professional literature, and had the opportunity to put into practice the
principles studies are revealing. As a certificated GATE
teacher, I am currently teaching fifth grade ATP (Academically Talented Program) in
the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
